Clinical Research Centre Hospital Shah Alam (CRC HSAS) is one of the networks of Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) in Selangor/ Klang Valley. CRC HSAS serves as a local coordination center for research activities and training related to research. It has become a One Stop Centre to meet all the clinical research solution. Operating since May 2016, Hospital Shah Alam is committed to contribute and enhance health care by promoting and supporting the importance, quality, safety and efficiency of clinical research.

Areas of interest: Transfusion Medicine Management in clinical practice and Patient Blood Management in clinical setting.

Awards and achievements:

  • Excellent Service Award, Ministry of Health Malaysia (2006, 2015)

Dr. Norasrina is a Transfusion Medicine specialist heading Tranfusion Medicine Unit and Clinical Research Unit at Hospital Alam. Dr. Norasrina has vast experiences in different clinical research aspects ranging from study design planning to statistical analysis and manuscript writing. She has published articles in local and international journals and has also presented in numerous local and international conferences.

Research Highlights

  • Currently monitoring The Efficacy and Safety of Intravenous Iron Sucrose versus Low-Molecular-Weight Iron Dextran among patients with preoperative anemia  undergoing elective surgery: A Prospective Cohort Study at Hospital Shah Alam.
  • Monitoring clinical cases related to Transfusion Medicine. Through case study approach to expand knowledge sharing, evidence-based practice and identify challenges in the provision of transfusion medicine generally and patient blood management specifically.
  • Provide training, assistance and mentoring to other researchers from various departments at Hospital Shah Alam.
